Script

For the production I wrote a script, we used this as more of a guideline to help us keep track of what scenes we need and what must happen in them. Many changes have been made after the script was created such as changing scenes and dialogue.

EXT.CORNFIELD.DAY
Shot of the corn field.

EXT.CHURCH.DAY
There is a shot of an old large church while church bells ring in the background.

Ext.THEATRE.DAY
A shot of the theater.
ext.river.day
Shot of a dead mans hand holding onto a flower. He lets go and the flower flows down the river.

EXT.GARAGE.NIGHT
There are two men outside of the garage. one is on his knees while the other is standing behind him with his gun to the back of his head. The man on the ground is crying.
Mobster
Stop crying, you brought this upon yourself.
The mobster pulls the trigger and the man falls to the ground dead.
Another shot reveals the worker who saw the murder hiding behind the wall. He knocks over a bottle by his feet and the mobsters all turn to him.
MOBSTER
(Shouting)
Hey you.
The worker quickly runs.
MOBSTER BOSS
(Shouting)
Get him.
The mobsters all chase the worker around the corner.

INT.PHONE BOX.NIGHT
The detective is in the phone box on the phone.
Detective
I don't care what he said

EXT.ALLEYWAY.NIGHT
The detective is walking down the street.
DETECTIVE
I'm telling you, there's something going on here
A man rushes down the alleyway and tries to grab the detective. The detective quickly grabs the mans hand and slams him against the wall.
DETECTIVE
And I'm going to find out what.

INT.OFFICE.NIGHT
The mobster boss is in the office with the garage owner. They are both standing over a large book on the desk.
MOBSTER BOSS
Who is he?
The garage owner opens the book and points to a name.
Garage owner
There.

INT.WORKER'S HOME.DAY
The worker is frantically packing clothes into a case.
GARAGE OWNER
Micheal Francis. Twenty second street.
He quickly closes his case.

EXT.WORKER'S HOME.DAY
The mobster is outside the workers house. He goes for the handle but the door is locked. He then barges into the door opening it to reveal no worker. He quickly goes in and looks around.
MOBSTER
Damn it, he's gone.

EXT.UNDER BRIDGE.NIGHT
The detective is under the bridge. He has one of the mobsters by the throat against the wall.
DETECTIVE
Tell me where he is.
The mobster grins and the detective picks up a brick from the ground and holds it about to hit the mobster.
DETECTIVE
(Shouting)
Tell me, now.

INT.MOTEL.NIGHT
The worker is looking out of the blinds.

INT.DETECTIVES HOME.DAY
The femme fatal is sat on a chair with her legs crossed. She is wearing a red dress and smoking a cigarette.
Femme fatal
Well hello again.

INT.OFFICE.DAY
The mobster boss is sitting down with his feet on the desk, the detective sat opposite.
DETECTIVE
(Shouts)
I'm gonna prove it was you if it kills me
MOBSTER BOSS
It will kill you.

INT.DETECTIVES HOME.NIGHT
The detective pours a glass of whiskey, he then takes a drink and puts the glass back down. He slams his hand down on the table and gets up walking out of the room.
DETECTIVE
God damn it.

INT.INTERROGATION ROOM.DAY
The detective is sat opposite the mobster.
DETECTIVE
So, you decided to talk?
The scene cuts to the detective behind him.
DETECTIVE
(Shouts)
You're really getting on my gad damn nerves.
The detective slams his head down against the table.

EXT.STREET.NIGHT
The detective and femme fatale are both running down the street and run down an alleyway away from a mobster. They both look at each other and go to kiss
ext.Corn field.Day
The detective is running through the corn field as the camera slowly turns.
MOBSTER
You should have just left it, rather than meddling in things that don't concern you.
The camera turns to show a gun pointing at the detective.

EXT.GARAGE.NIGHT
The worker is against the corner of a wall as a mobster walks towards him. The words "The Witness" appear.
INT.OFFICE.DAY
The mobster boss is sat by his desk. He reaches for a gun hidden under some papers and aims it. The words "The Mobster" appear.

INT.DETECTIVES HOME.NIGHT
The femme fatale is sat with a drink in her hand which she sips at. The words "The Femme Fatale" appear.
Ext.alley.night
The detective is stood in the alley, he pulls his gun up and points it. The words "The Detective" appear.
Title
The screen goes blank and the title comes up "The Chase"

EXT.STREET.NIGHT

A figure flicks a cigarette and puts it out with the bottom of his shoe.
