We feel that out trailer was very effective and successful in terms of catching the eyes of our audience. We used many conventions of noir and neo-noir work to do this. Such as the dark and gloomy settings that we used which are very mysterious. Our characters fill these conventions and are very effective in moving the story along.
We were very careful to try to stick in the time period of the 50s with our use of locations and pops and we believe that this shows through. This is good as it allows the audience to get much more immersed in our trailer and therefore make them more likely to want to watch the film.
We used a lot of action in our trailer as we have a young male target audience and they resonate with this. We used very 50s music for the most part and we feel that we have done a good job making the music flow throughout the trailer. The scenes flow together well with one scene transitioning effectively to the next. The writing also helps to tell the story better, making the trailer easier to understand and more compelling.
Obviously the trailer is not also without its faults, the lack of dialogue is one thing which I feel may take away from the trailer slightly. This meant that we had to use more text to tell the story instead which may not be as effective to young audiences.
